Cathy J Reynolds
Biography
Singing Inspirational and Patriotic Music

My Mission: I love, my LORD, with all my heart, mind, and soul.  HE died for me and arose to live again; so I will spend the rest of my life living for HIM.  I will share HIS love, encourage HIS people and give honor to the military for my right to do it openly.

Cathy Reynolds worked with the Anita Bryant Show in Branson Mo. for 3 years as a choreographer, co-director, and featured performer, as well as co-director of "Anita's Christmas Show" which won "Best Female Christmas Show" of 1996. The best male show that year was the "Andy Williams Show".

Cathy was also the director of the "Anita Bryant Company", a group of aspiring singers and dancers in Branson. Under the directorial talents of Cathy Reynolds, all of the students sharpened their singing and dance talents and most found their way into Branson shows. Many are still there performing in shows. Some have followed their dreams to Nashville and Hollywood appearing on the first "American Idol".

Cathy choreographed for Moe Bandy and the "Positive Country Show" in Branson. She has also been called upon to choreograph local plays and Christian videos.

Cathy is a part time primary music teacher at Peoria Academy, Peoria, Illinois.  This school is, in her opinion, the best school for a child to be raised.  It takes a village and this is a very important part of that village.

Cathy is currently director of of her  performing arts studio and  has show choirs which perform nationally including Disney World, Six Flags, Branson Mo., and two trips to the White House, performing in the East Room in Washington D.C. (1995 & 2001).  The Central Illinois Performing Arts Studio is designed to bring out the talent in students making them performers and future stars. Some of the former students are currently performing in regional and national shows.

Her CD's "Gloryland Highway" & "When Faith Calls" were produced by Jerry Kelso of Nashville Tennessee.  Jerry wrote most of the music for When Faith Calls including the featured "Freedom Flag".  He was the pianist for the southern gospel group "The Stamps Quartet". The "Stamps" are Dove Award and Grammy Award nominees.  The Stamps Quartet are members of the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame. Jerry is currently with the Dove Brothers Quartet.  Jerry also writes for music publishing companies, such as Centergy Music Group and Daywind Publishing.

Cathy believes her calling to gospel music was a life time nudging from the "LORD".  The "LORD" put people in the right place at the right time. The stage was set and soon all the players were in place when her singing talents were released by Jerry Kelso's writing and producing. Many people came together on her CD project to make it happen, all of whom have had some association with Trinity Music TBN.  The list includes Jason Webb (piano/keybroad/b3/digital) recently nominated for "Creative Support" award at the Southern Gospel Music Guild, "Harmony Honors" award show in Nashville.

The CD was recorded at Trinity Broadcasting, Trinity Music City Studios in Hendersonville Tennessee under direction of Rick Lloyd (now with Inlight Records) and Jerry Kelso. The CD's are a collection of original songs giving praise to "GOD".  Some songs are very upbeat while others fill one's ears with inspirational praise. "Gloryland Highway is Primarily Southern Gospel style music with patriotic and one worship song. Her style is similar to Sandi Patty, with great highs and lows, but with her own style and feel.  Her performance, in shows or churches, is exuberating. A testimony of obedience and Christ's love is always given.

There are also three patriotic songs. The "Freedom Flag" written by Jerry Kelso and Niles Borop ("Via Dolarosa", Centergy Music) tells a story of America's freedom and history of those who have fought for its freedom. The song was inspired as Cathy talked with Jerry about her love of country, veterans, and her own two sons, who were serving in Iraq in the 3rd ID and 101st Airborne. When she sings it, you can almost feel the Flag wrapped around you.  The song has been well received during performances with veterans and military audiences.

Cathy performs annually for the Veterans Convention in Branson Mo.  She always performs when asked for the VFW's and legion halls.  She sang at an awards ceremony for the 101st Airborne at Fort Campbell KY.  She has been a guest artist at the Walter White Motown Show in Branson Mo. bringing gospel and patriotic music to the Doo Wop Show.  She Performed her own shows in that same theater.  Walter White is the former lead singer for the legendary "Platters".

Since the 1st CD, Cathy has put out 2 more. Gloryland Highway, a compelation of Southern Gospel and Patriotic Songs; 4 of which she wrote or co-wrote with Jerry Kelso, and Hymns of Joy Songs of Faith, a compelation of old hymns and 3 spirited southern goslpel written by Cathy. Cathys 4th CD is in the works.

Cathy has had lead roles in many plays. She has also won numerous talent contests including her hometown's crown of Miss Morton. She has also been President of Morton's Kiwanis Club for the past four years, serving children of the world and the community.

Cathy is a member of the Gospel Music Association ASCAP, SGMA,Indiheaven.com and her music is published with Daywind Publishing.
